Yes, the Shocker Hitch Air Cushioned Trailer Coupler # SHK73RR can be used with a weight distribution hitch system. To use it with a hitch like the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System # EQ64FR you will need to follow these directions for inflating the air spring.
Load trailer the way it will be towed. Inflate airbag on Shockerhitch. CAUTION: Keep hands and clothing away from moving parts of hitch to avoid pinching and injury. As air pressure increases, the unit will rotate lifting the hitch and trailer tongue. Install air until green bushing has 1/4? clearance from the red frame. Always inflate air bag to set the Shocker Hitch, never deflate air bag to set Shocker Hitch, unsatisfactory results may occur. When using Equalizer/ Weight Distribution Hitch: Follow directions above, then hook up equalizer bars, and continue inflating air bag until 1/4? clearance on bump stops is achieved. Note: When towing heavy trailers or trailers with high wind resistance it may be necessary to increase air pressure in the Shocker.
