We have the Curt Echo Mobile Wireless brake controller part # C51180 which would work great with your 2022 Mercedes Benz GLS 450 that has a factory 7-way. Basically you'd just need to plug this into the 7-way and once synced to your smart phone would be ready to go without any wiring. This is a proportional brake controller too which means it senses how hard you are applying the vehicle brakes and applies the same to your trailer.
