Can The Pure Power Blue Treatment For RV Holding Tanks Be Used On A Tank That Is 3/4 Full?
Updated 08/10/2022 | Published 08/07/2022 >
Question:
I am permanently living in my fifth wheel on my daughter and son-in-law‘s property. My tanks will not be professionally dumped for another week. My sink is not draining and my reading says my gray water is 3/4 full. Can I pour pure power blue into my sink drain now before the tanks are empty in a week?

If your tanks were empty, then yes you could've used one 2 Oz. pouch of the Pure Power Blue Treatment for RV Holding Tanks # V23015 to treat your tank.
However since the majority of your tank is full, it is not recommended to use this pouch to treat your tank. Valterra recommends that your tank be empty, and then to add some water back to the tank prior to using the Power Blue Treatment for the best results.
Since the root of your issues stems from a clogged sink, you might consider trying a couple of D.I.Y remedies.
The first one you can try is the Hot Water Method. What you'll want to do is boil 1-2 pots of water, turn off your water, pour hot water down drain, let it sit overnight, and check in the morning. If the issue still persists you can try another pot, or you can try using some Draino or other unclogging agent, and follow the instructions on the bottle.
There are a couple other ways you can attempt to unclog your sink drain that I haven't covered, however I have attached a FAQ that goes into a bit more detail and offers other great solutions that should help you.
