Can 4,000 lb Leaf Spring Be Used for 2,750 lb Axle

Question:

I have a 2011 rockwood freedom 2280 pop up camper. I was told by rockwood it has a 2750# spring axle and the replacement leaf springs are dexter 072-022-00 3-leaf 1250# capacity 26”. Would this be the closest alternative that you offer? Would the difference in capacity be too much?

The 26" Long 4-Leaf Double-Eye Spring for 4,000-lb Trailer Axles # e22YR will work great as a replacement for your Dexter Axle Leaf Spring 072-022-00. This is rated for a slightly higher weight rating but it isn't too much higher so you won't have to worry about the ride quality being affected.
