Iwould prefer not to put rails in my truck bed is there a different Anderson hook that works

I have a solution for you but the only way to use an Anderson Hitch, like the item # AM3200 you were looking at, with a 2018 GM puck system is to use the the Demco 5th Wheel Rail Adapter for Chevy/GMC OEM 5th Wheel Towing Prep Package item # DM6206. They do not make Anderson hitches that mount directly to the OEM pucks on your 2018 Chevy Silverado 2500.
If you are not interested in using a rail adapter then I recommend the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch w/ Slider item # BWRVK3770. This sliding 5th wheel hitch is compatible with your puck system and will easily drop down into it and remove for full access to your truck bed. Similar to the Anderson, this hitch has a 20,000 lbs capacity. It will give you 12" of travel for backing into tight spots with your short bed Silverado. The B&W Companion is a far superior hitch than the Anderson as well. It is powder coated steel that is made in America.
