Can the Roadmaster Batttery Disconnect Switch Be Mounted To Negative Battery Terminal 2002 Spark?
Updated 07/29/2022 | Published 07/28/2022 >
Question:
I have a 2022 chevorlet spark. The owners manual says to disconnect the negative battery terminal. Will the solenoid disconnect work with the negative terminal? I presume there would not be a problem. I understand that the electric door locks will not be working.

Expert Reply:
The Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect with Switch # RM-766 must be connected to the positive battery terminal on your 2022 Chevrolet Spark. The reason your owners manual says to remove the negative battery cable is that is the safe way of physically disconnecting the battery terminals. If you were to attempt removing the positive battery terminal with the negative terminal connected you are at risk of hurting yourself. If you were to accidently touch the tool you are using from positive terminal to any grounded portion of steel on your Spark it will create a connection and could hurt you.
