Question:

I currently have Thule WingBar Evos 135 cm/53inch installed on my 2018 Honda CR-V. I also have a Yakima Skybox Carbonite 18. I am looking for a Kayak Carrier that will allow me to carry 1 kayak and the Yakima Skybox for family camping trips. What is my best option? I was looking at the Thule Hull-a-port Aero or Thule Stacker, but Im concerned they will be slightly too wide to work with the Skybox. Is there any solution that may work for the limited space I have left with the Skybox on the 53inch bars?

I did some research and was able to find an option for a kayak carrier you can use on your 53 inch crossbars to fit alongside the Yakima SkyBox 18 Rooftop Cargo Box # Y07336.

What you can use is a kayak carrier from Kuat that will fit the T-slot channels of your crossbars, and allow you to position the carrier so that it has enough space to fit next to the SkyBox. The correct part number is the following:

- Kuat Class 4 V2 Kayak Carrier with Tie-Downs # KU53VR

I added a cut out of the dimensions as well as a diagram of where you can position the # KU53VR on the edge of your crossbars in the T-slot. The SkyBox # Y07336 is 36 inches wide, and you can see that from the middle of the Kuat V2 base to the very farthest top edge of the carrier is 14-1/2 inches, so 36 + 14-1/2 = 50, leaving you a few inches to work with if you need to do some adjusting.
