Adjusting Settings for New Install of Blue Ox Patriot Portable Braking System
Published 07/01/2022 >
Question:
I’ve validated my setup is correct. Works with the manual brake button. Sensitivity is set to 9 and force is 2 light wait 2 door jeep. With all of that I’ve never actually seen the brakes getting applied. I’ve had some aggressive stops where I would have expected it to light up the triangle some. Anything I can do to test the accelerometer type function is working?

You can adjust the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR using the sensitivity adjustments in the setup screen. The large number on the display represents the force setting. I suggest you hook the Jeep up to the motor home and test braking with it in a open area away from other vehicles. Test for max force by setting to maximum amount and verifying it engages. If it does, back off the setting until you feel engage with a reasonable response. Let us know if it does not engage and we will troubleshoot from there.
