Question:
Hello! We bought this almost two seasons ago and have tried to resolve the following issue on our own, but am looking for some advice now. When the tub diverter is up so we’re in shower mode and the hot water is on, there’s a constant squealing noise. I have been able to resolve this by pushing the diverter down a bit, which does allow some water to flow through while still maintaining a decent amount of pressure from the showerhead. However, other family members find this difficult to do. It’s only happening with the hot water side, if I run cold only through the showerhead with the diverter completely up there is no squealing. Any ideas on how to resolve this? Thank you!

For your Phoenix Faucets RV Tub and Shower Diverter, # PF223161 and other similarly designed shower faucets, the squealing is usually from water pressure needing adjusted, loose parts or debris trapped inside of the component or a combination.
If you are not using a quality pressure regulator, I suggest you install one. The Valterra Adjustable Water Regulator for RVs, # A01-1117VP is variable from 15 to 65 psi. Having water pressure above 60 psi is not recommended.
For a quality basic unit, I prefer the Valterra High Flow RV Water Pressure Regulator with 90 Degree, # A01-2222 as this stress reliefs the water line connection preventing the hose from possibly kinking. It is set for 50 to 55 psi and constructed of brass.
Outside of the above suggestions, you will need to remove the faucet, clean and look for loose parts or debris that may be causing the issue.
