Question:

I am replacing a 110 V propane refrigerator with this unit , will the 12 volt wires that ran the control panel on old fridge be big enough to run this refrigerator, they are 14-16 guage wires , or do I have to run bigger wiring to the battery which is about 15’ away ?

Expert Reply:

Although you have 12V power running to the fridge location already, the current gauge wire will not be able to handle the power draw from the fridge. Using wire that is too small will cause the wire to melt. You will need at least 12 gauge wire # 12-1-1 for the Everchill RV Refrigerator w/ Freezer - 10.7 Cu Ft - 12V - Stainless Steel # 324-000119.
