Do I Need to Connect My Trailer to My 2022 Volvo XC90 to Pair the Curt Echo # C51180?
Published 06/24/2022 >
Question:
When I plug the Echo controller into the seven pin with the car running, the light on the Echo doesn’t come on and I’m unable to pair it to my phone. Do I need to have it connected to the trailer as well in order to get power to the Echo and complete the initial set up? The Echo app does say “plug in Echo controller and trailer” as part of the initial setup.

I went ahead and reached out to my tech at Curt, and he confirmed that you do in fact need to have the trailer connected to your 2022 Volvo XC90 in order to complete the pairing process of the Curt Echo # C51180 to your phone. This will solve the issue.
