Does the Bargman Replacement Lens for 99 Series Clearance Light Meet SAE AP2 06 DOT Compliance Code

Question:

My red SAE-ap288 only measures 4inch long but matches all other deminsions. Is 3499010 the correct replacement?

The best way to find a replacement lens is by manufacturer and part number. Part numbers are usually located either inside the body or the back of the light itself. The SAE number that you see on the outside of lens is the Society of Automotive Engineers standard which are guidelines that manufacturers adhere to.

If you cannot find the part number and/or manufacturer on the lens, then the best way to determine which lens you need is by the measurements.

I pulled the Bargman Replacement Lens # 3499010 that you referenced to measure it for myself. According to Bargman it measures 4-1/16L x 1-3/8W x 1T inches, which I found to be almost dead on, however, I did find that my length was actually between the 4 and 4-1/16 so, I believe you probably have the correct replacement lens.
