Curt TruTrack Weight Distribution Hitch For a 2014 Trail Manor 2922KB Travel Trailer

Published 06/22/2022

Question:

After doing some research online and reading/watching reviews, Ive decided the Curt True Track is going to be the best bang for my buck. I just want to confirm this version is right for my set-up. I have a 2020 Kia Telluride EX, 2WD with the self leveling rear suspension. Towing Capacity is 5,000lbs. My trailer is a 2014 Trail Manor 2922KB. per spec the hitch weight is 388lbs and the base weight is 2,880 lbs. Ive weighed it all packed up for a trip and was about 3,890 lbs. At full carrying capacity 1,350 the total trailer weight should be 4,230 not counting the hitch. Just wanted to make sure theres not other Curt True Track with lesser towing weight like a 5,000 lbs. I dont want to go overboard, just the right fit. However I do want the ridged spring bars and sway control that this provides. I dont like the chains.

Yes, the Curt TruTrack Weight Distribution System # C17499 does appear to be the correct system for your 2014 Trail Manor 2922KB. This hitch is rated for trailers up to 8,000lbs with a tongue weight of 500-800lbs. Your Trail Manor has a dry tongue weight of 388lbs which will quickly increase when adding the 40lbs of propane, 50lbs for the Battery # BRW34FR and your additional cargo you will be over the 500lb minimum tongue weight rating for this hitch.

You will need either a 2" Hitch Ball # A-90 or 2-5/16" Hitch Ball # C40030 to match your coupler. And a 1-7/8" 12pt Thin Walled Socket # ALL643216 to torque down the hitch ball.
