Question:
Hello, I am planning to purchase a Malone Micro Sport 4 kayak trailer from you. Dodge Grand Caravan is the vehicle. Set Up for a trailer but I need the 2 inch ball. QUESTION: What type of ball hitch is required? A 2-inch , or a riser? Hitch seems rather close to the ground.

The coupler on the Malone MicroSport Trailer with J-Style Carriers for 4 Kayaks - 800 lbs # MPG462G2 attaches to a 2" hitch ball. It sounds like you are trying to determine what rise/drop you would need on a ball mount to tow this trailer level.
In order to find the rise/drop you will need to measure. The measurements you need are the hitch height and the coupler height. With your 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan parked on level ground, measure from the ground to the top of your hitch receiver opening. The coupler height we already know is 18". The Hitch Height - Coupler Height = Rise/Drop.
If you have a hitch like the # e98854 then your hitch height is 13". This would mean that you need a 5" rise to tow the trailer level. If you have the same or similar measurement you could use something like the Curt Ball Mount for 2" Hitches - 5" Rise, 6-1/8" Drop - 9-3/8" Long - 10,000 lbs # C45336.
You would also need the # A-90 for a 2" ball and # C21500 for a pin and clip. If you would prefer a locking hitch pin then the # e98880 is also available.
I have attached some review videos along with a helpful article on measuring rise and drop for your reference.
