Hi, Im trying to decide between the following Malone trailers. Im not super familiar with all the nuances of each model. I need to be able to retract the tongue so I can store it upright in my garage. Im comparing the following models: 1 $1,499 - Malone EcoLight Sport Trailer with Post Style Carrier for 4 Kayaks - 400 lbs Item # MAL63FR Need to buy both spare tire and retractable tongue 2 $2,349 - Malone MicroSport Trailer with Post Style Carriers for 4 Kayaks - 800 lbs Item # MAL24ZR Includes spare tire, need to buy retractable tongue 3 $2,399 - MicroSportâ„¢XT Trailer with Aluminum Wheels, Aluminum Fenders and Retractable Tongue Kit Item # MPG460XT Includes retractable tongue, need to buy spare tire 4 $1,436 - Malone LowMax Trailer with Post Style Carriers for 4 Kayaks - Detachable Tongue - 600 lbs Item # MAL45FR Includes detachable tongue, need to buy spare tire This model may be discontinued Any suggestions or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. I can definitely help and point you in the right direction.
I recommend going with the Malone EcoLight # MAL63FR since it will have the smallest footprint out of the other Malone trailers you mentioned. The trailer itself is about 10' 9" long x 58" wide and 31" tall. This will be advantageous if you are limited on storage space. The EcoLight can hold four kayaks and carry up to 400 lbs which generally is more than enough for most kayaks. We can also set you up with the retractable tongue in part # MPG494, and the spare tire in part # MAL33FR. There may be more than one Malone trailer that will work for your application, but I think the EcoLight # MAL63FR would definitely be your best bet given the circumstances.
