Question:
I recently purchased a Jayco travel trailer that weighs 6900 dry. The dealer where I purchased transferred my Reese trunion hitch setup to new trailer. However, I noticed that my spring bars are rated 800lbs. I’m concerned that a loaded trailer might be at the 8-9k mark. My question is should I consider upgrading my spring bars to 1000lb bars for that load? My shank is 10k rated so no concern there. Thanks

When it comes to hauling your Jayco Travel Trailer that weighs around 8,000 to 9,000 pounds when fully loaded I would recommend upgrading the spring bars. The Replacement Trunnion Spring Bar for Reese Weight Distribution System - 1,200 pounds TW # RP66009 is what you will need.
This bar system works with tongue weights between 600 pounds to 1,200 pounds giving you the perfect middle ground for your Jayco trailer. This comes with 1 bar.
If you have dual-cam sway control then you need The Reese Dual Cam High-Performance Sway Control for Steel Trailer Frames # RP26002 which is sold separately.
I attached a review video link below.
