Question:

Looking to purchase kayak Saddle tiedowns but did notice that they only handle 80 pounds I have a old town 106 MK approximately 100 pounds or so around 120 lbs . I’m looking to purchase also the Yakima OverHaul HD Adjustable Truck Bed Ladder Rack . Can you suggest something that may work for me.Thank you .also I would like the kayak to upright on its hull . So I can easily slide it onto the rack.

I do have a solution for you. You will be able to use the Yakima OverHaul HD Adjustable Truck Bed Ladder Rack - Aluminum - 500 lbs - 68" Crossbars, part # Y01151-58, on your 2020 Ram 1500. While this ladder rack has t-channels, but it is still compatible with my recommended kayak carrier. The Lockrack Adjustable XL Watersport Carrier - Canoe, Kayak, or 2 SUPs - Side Loading - Universal Mount, part # LR54FR, has a maximum weight limit of 175 lbs. The carrier also comes with an integrated locking system, so you can secure the kayak to your ladder rack.
