Looking brake controller for 1999 gmc sierra classic 1500 with z71 package. Looks square like a 1998 so not sure which way to search. The only 2 options coming up are over $400. Thanks for your help.

For a brake controller on your 1999 GMC Sierra 1500 Classic with the Z71 package I recommend the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller # RED24FR. The main unit of this proportional brake controller installs behind the dash with the control knob visible inside the cab. The knob controls the braking power and also acts as the manual override.
In order to install this brake controller you can use the Redarc Tow-Pro Wiring Adapter for Tekonsha Brake Controller Harness # 331-TPH-017. This will allow you to use the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers - GM # 3025-P which plugs into the electric junction box beneath the dash for a complete plug and play installation.
