Does Dealer Need to Re-Program Vehicle Computer in Order to Use the Curt Echo # C51180?

Question:

Hello, I’ve been told a couple times by 2 different RV dealers I should check with the local Jeep dealership to make sure our 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee with upgraded tow package includes 4 and 7 pin connector doesn’t need a computer re-program in order to use the Curt Echo plug and play brake controller. That’s not my understanding of the Device. Can you confirm there would be no need to have the dealership program the computer in the Jeep?

I went ahead and called my tech at Curt and he said that the Curt Echo # C51180 does not require the dealer to re-program your computer on your 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee. It is truly plug-and-play with your factory 7-way and the downloaded app on your Smart device.
