Question:

Will the sliding track system fit over the bakflip MX4 bed cover? The bakflip extends over the edge of the bed about 3/8 to 1/2. I do not have the RamBox

While we do have a great solution for you, the Thule TracRac SR # TH57RV is problematic for a couple reasons when used with the BAKFlip MX4 # BAK448227 on your 2020 Ram 1500 (short bed without RamBox). Since you are absolutely correct that the BAKFlip's seals extends over the rails of the truck, they do interfere with the wide rails of the TracRac SR. Not only that, but since the TracRac SR has inward angles on the uprights, this causes rubbing against the sides of the panels when opening/closing the cover.

As a great alternative that installs into your stake pockets and does not interfere with opening and closing the panels, I suggest going with the Adarac Pro Series Custom Truck Bed Ladder Rack # A4000965. Not only does this rack work with the seals of the MX4, it also has completely straight bases to avoid rubbing with the cover. Like the SR, you can adjust the crossbars anywhere along the bed. You also have the option of adding a tie down kit # A4000882 and/or sliding adjustable load stops # A4000880. For great straps that work with the tie-down eye bolts, the Erickson S-Hook Tie Downs # EM34409 will get the job done.
