Troubleshooting Curt Echo Brake Controller Won’t Connect to Trailer
Updated 05/03/2022 | Published 04/30/2022 >
Question:
I am trying to set up the Curt Echo on my 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a factory tow package. I am paired and get a solid blue light, but it doesn’t connect/turn green when I plug in my trailer power cord. The trailer lights are working, so I know I’m getting power from the TV to the trailer.

I reached out to Curt and it does not seem like there is a problem with the Curt Echo # C51180 itself and is likely a wiring problem. Since this is a new vehicle, I would go ahead and rule out the vehicle wiring and 7-way having an issue. I recommend checking out the wiring on the trailer side.
Make sure there is no debris or corrosion on the trailer connector. I would also double check the ground connections. They should be secure on a clean, bare-metal surface.
Should you continue to have an issue where the brake controller does not pair, Curt said you can call them directly and they will help you troubleshoot further.
