To tow a 4,500 lbs camper with your 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, you will want the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch item # 75866. This hitch has a 6,000 lbs towing capacity and will have more than enough capacity to handle your camper.

You will also need a brake controller. I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller item # 90195. This brake controller activates your trailer brakes in proportion to your Chevy's braking action. The Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers item # 3016 will allow for an easy install.

To round out your towing setup I recommend the Curt Towing Starter Kit for 2" Hitches item # C45534. This towing kit will provide you with a 2" ball and a fixed ball mount with a 3/4" rise and 2" drop.
