Question:

I have a 2005 travel supreme 5th wheel I need a new ac unit but can’t seem to find this product # 991731786 or serial#34633306 and it’s a duo theorem by dometics can you help me out I figured since the camper was old it would be hard to find

What you currently have is a Dometic Duo-Therm and we have a great replacement option available for you. I recommend the Advent Air Replacement RV Air Conditioner for Dometic Setup w/ Start Capacitor:

- # ACDOM135 for a 13,500 Btu Option

- # ACDOM150 for a 15,000 Btu Option

I have a 2002 R Vision trail lite - we don’t know where to find the model or serial # as this was a hand me down but we do know it’s a domestic duo therm. We’ve had problems with it freezing up and have cleaned the coils but we don’t know what else to do or if it would be best to replace the unit. But with what? Any ideas?

@Kristen A few things could go into that unit freezing up. A dirty air filter, blocked vent, a bad freeze sensor. I will say replacement parts are few and far out for Dometic units, especially with the recent changes in RV ac units making brands no longer cross compatible. If it is a common issue for you I would recommend replacing the system. You can replace that system with any system we carry, I usually recommend the Advent # ADV82SR 15,000 btu low profile system. This is a great system that will replace your current Dometic. AC units are a standard size no matter the BTU so you wont have to worry about fitment issues in the trailer. How many BTU's is your current system?

@NickS Honestly don’t know! We cleaned the coils and the filter I assume is the one at the vent inside the cabin. Not sure where else to look. We pulled the top off and cleaned everything we could see. Not sure how to get to the sensor.

@Kristen The sensor itself is usually located on the bottom left of the evaporator coil when you are looking at the unit from the front. I am not sure if this is a part that can be replaced by Dometic so a new system may be the best option.
