The 2.5 gear has a 15 tooth gear, can I use my old in good shape 18 tooth gear?

**Lippert Components 2.5 x 2.5 Heavy Duty RV Slide-Out Gear Pack - Steel Rollers # LC123356.
I highly recommend going with the exact replacement and keeping the same gear tooth ratio. It may seem like an easy fix or a small matter but just adding one tooth may cause damage to your unit. The system is designed for 15 teeth and if you add more teeth or take some away it will cause the system to track wrong and cause damage.
