would like to put the switch somewhere in the cab. looks like it needs a ground. what do u recommend?

It looks like the interior varies on the 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 depending on what you have exactly. I would recommend mounting the Manual Switch Kit for Pace Edwards BedLocker or UltraGroove Electric Tonneau Cover # 311-BL-1120 to the right of the steering wheel and down low. This will likely be the most out of the way location unless you have room to mount it in the center below the stereo.

Yes, it does need a ground. The switch comes with a ground wire so you won't need to acquire one. It also comes with a mounting bracket and hardware to make it easier to mount in the cab.
