With both gearbox’s on it what it the height from the receiver to top of the top box when closed

The total height from the bottom of the receiver tube to the top of the closed GearLocker on the Yakima Exo Swing Away Storage System # Y74ZR is 42-1/2 inches tall. I went ahead and attached a diagram that shows this height for your convenience.
