Question:
I have a 2006 Jeep wrangler I want to get a tow bar for so I can pull it with my truck. There is an aftermarket off-road steel bumper on it. Id like to send over a couple pictures to see what options might be available. I have 1-inch diameter D-rings and the bumper is approved for flat-towing

Thanks so much for the photos and specs! For flat-tow parts on your 2006 Jeep Wrangler, you need a D-ring adapter, a tow bar, a tow braking system, safety cables, and vehicle tow wiring
You can definitely use your aftermarket off-road bumper with the 1-inch D-rings attached as long as the bumper is approved to flat-tow. Since this is the case, I recommend the following setup:
- Adapter for Jeep D-Ring Bumper Mounts to Roadmaster Motor Home Mount Tow Bars - 1" Thick # RM-035-1
- Roadmaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar - Motorhome Mount - 2" Hitch - 6,000 lbs # RM-520
- Dutton Lainson Safety Cables # DL20119
- Brake Buddy Classic 3 Portable Supplemental Braking System # HM39494 with Roadmaster Brake Light Relay Kit # RM-88400
- Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles - 7-Wire to 6-Wire Straight Cord # RM-152-98146-7
The great thing about the Roadmaster D-Ring adapter is that you do not need to go through a long, full installation of a base plate. It is designed to fit your 1-inch D-rings. As far as the Falcon tow bar, it allows for you to easily release your vehicle even in uneven ground and simply slides into the RV's hitch receiver without the need of a ball mount. It also adjusts to fit your D-ring separation. The cables give you plenty of weight capacity in the event of an emergency disconnect. In addition, you will also receive the proportional action of the Brake Buddy Classic 3 which applies the Wrangler's brakes at the same level that you apply the brakes to your RV. With the braking system, you will need a brake light relay in order to not override your RV's signals. With the diode kit, this will allow you to connect your RV's tail, brake, and turn signal lights to your Wrangler's lighting system.
As with all flat-tow setups, I recommend consulting with your owner's manual to make sure you follow all of the manufacturer's guidelines.
