Question:
I have a 2002 Honda crv and Im wanting to make sure I get the right baseplate for flat towing behind my motorhome. I believe its either part#1541-1 or 1541-3. Both say they fit on crv and I notice it the reviews the baseplate fits on several different vehicles and leans towards the Honda element. Also cant find a great video for that install. Any advice would be great thank you.

Both the Roadmaster # 1541-1 and the # 1541-3 are compatible fits for your 2002 Honda CR-V, but these are the older crossbar-style so instead you'll want the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # 1541-5. These direct-connect style base plates provide a quicker and simpler connection.
To flat tow you'll also need a tow bar, tow bar wiring kit, braking system, and safety cables. For this I have the following recommendations:
Tow Bar: etrailer SD Non-Binding Tow Bar for Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plates # e74ZR. It features non-binding latches and telescoping, self supporting arms that make connecting and disconnecting your CR-V on any terrain a breeze. It has an adjustable head that tilts up or down 3" and the shank has a built-in 1-1/2" rise or drop to keep tow bar parallel with road while towing without the use of a high/low hitch adapter. It also comes with safety cables included.
Tow Bar Wiring Kit: Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 4-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15247. This diode kit allows you to use your Honda CR-V's tail lights and wiring system while preventing feedback from your RV. Since you have separate lighting this kit will cause your brake lights to function as both brake and turn signal lights. A wiring converter # 118158 and 2 additional diodes # RM-792 will be needed if you want to retain separate turn and brake signals.
Note: The Brake light relay # RM-88400 may be required if used with supplemental braking system.
Braking System: Brake Buddy Select 3 Portable Supplemental Braking System # HM39524. This system offers intense, emergency braking or steady, smooth braking in a single portable system. Easily switch between proportional or full braking from the cab of your motorhome using the remote. The included charge line kit will keep your CR-V's battery charged while you tow.
Safety Cables: Since the # e74ZR already has safety cables you won't need to purchase these separately.
