Installation and Cutting Requirements for a Hitch Receiver on a 2022 Toyota Camry

Question:

Im going to buy a hitch for my 2022 Camry. Ive got a 2022 Camry with a single exhaust pipe so the plastic underbody panel is considerably different then the one shown in the Curt installation video. Will there be a lot of cutting of the panel on the drivers side of the panel or does the hitch mount above the panel on that side? Also it appears from using a scope that there are threaded mounting holes that would be for a second muffler on the drivers side that I can use to mount the hitch. Am I correct in that observation?

I took a look at the installation video and instructions for the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver item # C11576. It does look like you are going to have to do some trimming of the under panel to accommodate the receiver portion of the hitch and the lip for the main beam. I have linked a video of a different hitch being installed on a single exhaust Camry. The panel does not extend to where the exhaust is so the installation on your 2022 Toyota Camry will be easier and you will only have to trim one heat shield. No trimming or cutting will have to be done to the body of the Camry, all trimming and cutting is done under the body, therefore leaving the outside appearance of the car intact. The threaded mounting holes are used to attach the hitch. They are used on the passenger side to attach the hitch and the exhaust holder.
