Using Dual Cam Sway Control, Part # 26002 with Robin Industries Weight Distribution System

Question:

Just purchased a 2007 Jayco 29ft Jay Flight. It came with a Robin Industries hitch model # 21040 with a weight distribution system. The side bars are stright to the end. I think I need the Trunnion Style Weight Distribution Spring Bar Kit # 6666 for the Dual Cam High Performance Sway control system # 26002 to work. Will the Trunnion bars work with Robin hitch I have. I have spoken with one of our contacts at Reese, and they cannot guarantee that their Trunnion Bars will work or would be safe to use with any Weight Distribution Systems other than the ones that they manufacture. If by chance they would fit, using their Trunnion Bars with a different weight distribution system would void the warranty on the bars.

To get the Dual Cam system to work with your setup, you would need to replace the bars and the head unit (not to mention purchasing the Dual Cam System in the first place). This would cost more than purchasing the whole unit as a set. I would recommend the Strait-Line Weight Distribution System, part # 66074. This System would include the Weight Distribution Head, the 1200 TW Trunnion Bars and the Dual Cam Sway Control. The only other items needed would be the Weight Distribution Shank and the Trailer Ball with a 1-1/4 inch shank.
