Recommended Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control with 915 lb. TW

Updated 03/18/2022 | Published 03/17/2022

Question:

I’m wondering which model of e2 round bar weight distribution hitch I should purchase. My new trailer has a gross dry weight of 5345lbs, and GVWR of 7900lbs, and 915lb dry tongue weight. I’m wondering if I need the 1,000lb TW bars which can handle a max trailer weight of 10,000? My biggest concern is that the 800lb TW spring bars are not adequate for the tongue weight, but I don’t want significant overkill if the next size hitch is too large. Thoughts? I’m not sure if it matters, but I’m towing this trailer with a 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 crew cab with a 5.3L.

If your travel trailer has a TW of 915 lbs. the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control, # FA94-00-1000 is a good option. This is for trailers with a tongue weight between 600 lbs. to a 1,000 lbs. and a gross towing weight of up to 10,000 lbs. Because you have a max GVWR of 7900lbs. you will not exceed this max weight rating and you can adjust the load for best fit on the TW.

If you need a tongue weight scale to determine your tongue weight, we offer the etrailer scale # e99044.
