Question:
Hello: We have a 2013 Audi Q5 and two Electra Cruisers a Cruiser 1 step-through and a Cruiser 1 Lux step-over that we want to find a rack for. My questions are: 1. Will the SH22B work without blocking our rear parking sensors and without exhaust melting any of the plastic components or is an adapter necessary if not, Id rather not spend more money? 2. The specs say the SH22B will hold bikes with up to a 47inch max wheelbase and my Cruiser 1 Lux is infinitesimally longer 47.05/119.5cm. Technically thats longer than 47inch but I cannot imagine that Kuat would void the warranty for .05. Am I right? Thanks,

Helpful Expert Reply:
The Kuat Sherpa 2.0 Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 2" Hitches - Wheel Mount - Black, part # SH22B, will carry both of your Electra Bikes with no issues. The wheelbase of your Electra Cruiser 1 Lux would be considered 47". I cannot guarantee the rack itself will not interfere with your rear parking sensors. Our experience is that many times the sensors still work, but installing an accessory reduces the sweet spot that activates the sensors in size. I recommend checking with your Audi dealer. Some manufacturers make a sensor relocation kit. With regard to your exhaust melting the plastic, I recommend installing exhaust tips on your 2013 Audi Q5. Attaching something like the MagnaFlow 3-1/2" Exhaust Tip - Stainless, Weld-On for 3-1/2" Tailpipe, part # MF35178, will direct your exhaust downward, bypassing your Kuat Sherpa. We do have a selection of exhaust tips. You will have to measure your existing tailpipe to determine what size tip you need.
I have included product description links, a video installation of the Kuat Sherpa on a 202 Audi SQ5, and a weblink to our exhaust tips below.
