Question:
Is there a way to lock the gateway pro to the car as I have to completely take it off when I go riding and then re-secure it. My concern is that the carrier will be stolen and I am trying to prevent it. Thanks.

Absolutely! The best way to secure your Thule Gateway Pro # TH88VR to your vehicle is by using the Thule Passive Security Strap for Trunk Mounted Bike Carriers # TH533. The way that the Passive Security Strap works is by simply looping the strap around your bike and shutting the circular puck stop into the trunk of your car. With this steel-enforced strap, it deters theft from someone taking the rack from your vehicle without access to the trunk. Since the trunk is locked, they will not be able to open it.
I went ahead and attached a video that shows the attachment process.
