Question:
I have 2006 Toyota Tacoma, with the factory tow package. Will this Redarc controller be a simple plug in install, with no wiring required? Is there a video that you can point me to that will help? The photo shows the trailer brake jumper harness that came with the truck. Thanks

When installing the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller # RED44FR on your 2006 Toyota Tacoma there will be a little bit of wiring required. In order to plug this brake controller into your factory wiring harness you need the Tekonsha Custom Wiring Adapter # C51362 along with the # 331-TPH-019.
One end of this wiring harness will connect to the wires on your brake controller using the included butt connectors. Once this is connected to the wiring harness on the # RED44FR you will be able to plug it into the factory tow port on your 2006 Toyota Tacoma.
Since it looks like your factory tow port came as a separate wiring harness, you will have to install this wiring harness as well. As an alternative, you could hard wire the brake controller instead of adding the # 3040-S. Since you will have to install two other wiring harnesses, it will probably be just as much work to wire the brake controller in directly.
Although we do not have an installation video on a Tacoma, I attached one for a Toyota 4Runner with the factory tow package for your reference.
