A trailer brake controller like the Redarc # RED24FR Tow-Pro Liberty is intended to actuate trailer brakes, not the brakes of a towed vehicle. This being said, we DO offer braking solutions for flat towing a vehicle.

For a vehicle being flat towed behind a motorhome, you'll need to use a supplemental braking system that's specifically designed to actuate the brake pedal in your towed vehicle.

Supplemental braking systems are available as portable models, like the # HM39494 Brake Buddy Classic 3. I'll typically recommend a portable system for folks who don't plan to keeping their towed vehicle for more than 4 or so years. A portable system is quick and easy to set up and install (see linked video) and is easily transported to a different vehicle when necessary. A portable system also spares you from the involved and expensive installation that permanently installed systems would require.

If you plan on keeping the vehicle for more than 4 or 5 years, a permanently installed system would make more sense. Demco offers some excellent units. The Air Force One, part # SM99243 is recommended for use with motorhomes with air brakes. For motorhomes with hydraulic brakes, use the # SM99251 Stay In Play DUO.
