Speed Rating for the Yakima Rack and Roll Trailers
Updated 08/14/2013 | Published 08/13/2013 >
Question:
Id like to know the speed rating of the Yakima tire/wheel/bearing combination for the roof rack/trailer. I travel for many hours at speeds between 70-80mph therefore a tire/wheel/bearing combination that limits my speed will not be suitable. I cant imagine driving at 65mph and losing 10 miles for every hour a 7 hour drive would add a full hour to my trip. Thank you.

Expert Reply:
The speed rating that Yakima lists for their Rack and Roll trailers is that they can be towed at posted speed limit with proper loading and favorable road conditions. So as long as you are not speeding you should be fine.
