Yes, the Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector item # HM11143270 will work with surge brakes. The wiring harnesses do not have any compatibility issues with surge brakes. However, I recommend going with the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector item # 118628 over the Hopkins connector. Tekonsha makes a more reliable product. This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your MDX's junction box, which is located in your rear cargo area, behind the driver's-side trim panel in the spare tire compartment. I have linked an installation video to help you with installing this harness.
If your actuator has a reverse lockout solenoid you will need the Curt Trailer Connector Adapter - 4-Way Flat to 5-Way Flat - Vehicle End item # C57187.
