Does Battery Have to be Used with Progressive Dynamics Mighty Mini AC/DC Panel and Converter

Question:
Im working out the electrical plan for a tiny home. Eventually I may want to have off-grid capacity but for now, it is not necessary as there will be 30 amp shore power. Will this system work to convert AC to the DC components without a battery bank, or is a battery bank required?

The Progressive Dynamics Mighty Mini AC/DC Panel and Converter/Smart Charger # PD4060K does not require a battery to work so you could use it without one.
