Question:
I have a 2015 Ford Explorer Limited. It has sway control in the dash electronics. It came without a hitch or the trailer light connections , so I had a Class III hitch and a 4-way trailer light connection installed. I then bought a popup rv trailer with electric brakes and a 2300 lb dry weight. I would like to change the 4-way to 7-way and add an electric brakes controller. I assume I do not have the factory tow package. Can you tell me from my description what I will need to install an electric brake controller? Thanks,

To upgrade your 2015 Ford Explorer Limited from just a 4-way to 7-way you will need the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7. Since you already have the 4-way installed this kit will come with the rest of what you need to upgrade to a 7-way and connect your brake controller to.
I've attached a video below of a 2013 Ford Explorer that will help walk you through the installation process.
If you don't already have a brake controller I recommend the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller # RED24FR along with the Plug-and-Play Wiring Harness for Redarc Tow-Pro Trailer Brake Controllers # RED87FR. The Tow Pro Liberty has such a small footprint that it can installed almost anywhere. It's super easy to use and I personally have one in my truck.
