Exhaust on 2021 Mazda CX-30 Rattling Against Hitch

Question:

I bought a hitch for my Mazda cx30 through your site. 1 I had a garage put it on but my car now is making a rattling sound and sounds like its hitting the muffler. Is that normal or thought? 2 what best recommondations do you have for a ebike carrier for the hitch.

What you describe isn't unheard of. Due to the rigid nature of the hitch construction, once the # EH55VR is installed on your 2021 Mazda CX-30 it's position is fixed, and it would sit in exactly same spot on any Mazda CX-30 of the same model year. The same cannot be said of the vehicle's exhaust system. The exhaust system is suspended from rubber isolators that allow the exact position of the exhaust to vary a bit from vehicle to vehicle.

The typical fix for the issue you describe is to gently bend one of the exhaust hangers that hold the exhaust up just enough to provide more space between the hitch and the exhaust.
