Features to know about

Get More Out of Every Trip: Hidden Class III 2" Receiver with 2,500 lbs GTW and 375 lbs TW

This EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver lets you do more with your vehicle without changing how it looks. With a 2" x 2" receiver opening and Class III rating, it supports up to 2,500 lbs of gross trailer weight and 375 lbs of tongue weight. That’s plenty of strength for bike racks, small campers, or cargo baskets. The hidden cross tube keeps the receiver tucked neatly under the bumper for a clean, factory-style finish that doesn’t compromise ground clearance.

Keep It Looking Stock: Concealed Cross Tube Design

Most hitches stand out under the bumper. This one doesn’t. The cross tube sits behind the bumper so only the receiver is visible, creating that clean “built-in” look people notice in higher-end setups. You get full towing strength without adding bulk or visible hardware to the back end of your vehicle.

Simplify the Install: 100 Percent Bolt-On with No Drilling

You don’t need special tools or a lift to get this hitch installed. The EcoHitch uses existing mounting points and bolts right onto the frame—no drilling or welding required. It’s designed for straightforward installation in a driveway or garage with regular hand tools.

Built to Last: Recycled Alloy Construction with Rust-Resistant Powder Coat

The EcoHitch uses a mix of aerospace-grade aluminum, steel, and stainless steel to keep it strong but lightweight. The alloy is made from recycled materials for an eco-friendly build that doesn’t cut corners on durability. A black powder coat finish seals everything against rust and road grime, so it stays looking sharp through years of use.

This hitch is custom made to fit the Mazda CX-30. It was easy to install and works well towing a trailer. I have three suggestions for improvement:
1) the four bolts that hold the hitch to the frame rails should be upgraded to the type of bolt that has a square shoulder that fits into a square slot on the metal tab that keeps the bolt up inside the frame rail. E-Trailer uses this type of bolt and tab with other hitches and they do a much better job of preventing the bolt from spinning when you tighten the nut.
2) Only one fishing wire was provided with the installation kit, so you have to re-use it for each of the four bolts to get them situated up inside the frame rails. This means when you raise the trailer hitch into place you better do a really good job aligning it or you'll push one or more of the bolts up into the frame rail and then spend an hour trying to fish them back through the holes. E-Trailer provides four fishing wires on other trailer kits and they shoudld provide 4 fishing wires with this hitch for the CX-30.
3) Once installed and tightened into position, this hitch sits too close to the muffler and I could hear and feel the muffler rattling against the trailer hitch as I drove over bumps in the road. The muffler is mounted on rubber grommets that allow it to move slightly up and down and side to side as the car is driven over bumps. This hitch should have been designed with more clearance around the muffler. The solution is to mark the contact points on the muffler with a Sharpie pen, then grind away some metal from the muffler to widen the gap between muffler and hitch. Fortunately the contact points are on the muffler seam and mounting bracket so grinding away some metal at these contact points does not harm the muffler itself.

Install went well, I did purchase this for a 2022 CX-30 even though it wasn’t confirmed to fit. Lucky for me it fit perfectly with no issues. Took me about 90 minutes from start to finish.

by:

The hitch is well built, but inadequately designed. I installed this on my 2021 CX-30 AWD Turbo. All hardware was included to complete the installation. The instructions were a bit vague in a couple areas, which led to some steps needing to be repeated. You have to be extremely careful handling the bolts once the fish wire is installed. This is tedious, but works well if you take your time. I installed on a lift with help from a buddy. Total install was about 2 hours.

The design problem related to how this hitch fits around the muffler mount. This is very little clearance, which results in constant clanging as you drive around. I used a dremel to remove some of the muffler mount sheet metal which helped. I really needed to remove even more, as the clanging continued, albeit not as frequent or as loud. This hitch needs to be redesigned to not require modification of the OEM muffler mount.

by:

Installation was straight forward and instructions were clear. Hitch fit perfectly without any cutting, grinding or drilling.

by:

Does not properly fit the turbo models. The hitch hits the muffler and makes a loud banging. I installed a shim between the hitch and muffler that eliminates the sound. However, this hitch was not designed properly for the turbo models.

Unfortunately, it is common that minor exhaust hanger adjustments may be necessary to get proper clearance. I have a link attached below for some assistance on how to adjust the exhaust hanger.

compatible with a Mazda CX-30 Turbo Premium Plus. There was some exhaust rattle on the driver's side which was anticipated and fully explained in etrailer video
Attached video shows my bit of grind down on the muffle rwhich fixed the rattle

My Mazda dealer installed it. And yes indeed I had the “little tango” rattle on the muffler on the driver’s side.

After grinding down the muffler and part of the auto chassis, the pesky rattle was still happening. After contacting MANY owners I finally found the ultimate solution. Its not raise the car, it LOWER the muffler.

by:

Install was straightforward but the confined spaces were challenging. Only the receiver is visible and it looks like it came with the car.

by:

We bought this hitch for a carrier for our e-bikes. Very pleased with hitch. Highly recommend.

by:

Not a direct fit. Left etrailer recommended installer with my exhaust banging against the hitch. Required further modifications to prevent contact with stock exhaust.

by:

Straight up simple bolt on. Fit like a glove. Like the look it creates.

@RickM Those are sweet! Any plans on the books for a trip once you get the trailer?

by:

As easy to install as the video indicates. No surprises. Looks good on the car.

by:

This trailer hitch has been great a year in now, and I have no regrets making this purchase from Will and his team here at etrailer.

by:

This was my second hitch from etrailer. Both hitches were relatively easy to install. I would like to recommend to etrailer to provide 2 bolt fishers just in case 1 loses its effectiveness. I would also recommend including hitch clips to hold the mounting bolts in place while raising the hitch into place as recommended in one purchaser's review. Spending close to $400 only makes sense including these items to ensure a successful and hassle free installation.

by:

I had it installed but was told no problems
Looks
great

by:

Great product. I have done any car-related stuff but with the help of a friend (who'd fixed a hitch before) we managed to install this easily in about 1 hr. The video was very helpful as well as the paper instructions.
I fixed a 1UP bike rack to the hitch. Very happy with the end result.

by:

Hitch arrived quickly, however it was missing the fish wire which is supposed to be included. I bought this myself for $[X].

Install took about 3 hours. The most difficult part was pushing the fish wire though the frame and lifting the hitch into position without bumping any of the bolts. The hitch looks great once installed (very well hidden). I have not noticed any muffler rattle.

by:

Product had a good finish and was installed without issue.

by:

Shipping was ridiculously quick. And the installation was easier than I expected. Took about an hour.

Looks great, Reid! What kind of bikes do you have?

by:

I purchased this for a 2025 CX-30 and had it installed by one of etrailer's recommended installers. Note that to avoid exhaust muffler rattling, you may need to lower the muffler (see photos).

by:

No self respecting company should release a product this bad. It rattles on uphills because they don’t have enough space between exhaust and the hitch(in 2 places on each side. To make matters worse it has a major design flaw for the anti-rotate features for the bolts. Rather than having a positive stop on the lugs they chose to go with cheap star washers!!! Good luck taking this POS off your car after you properly torque the bolts. Do yourself a favor and avoid at all costs.

It is pretty common for the hitch is rub against the exhaust after install. The good news is there are ways to fix it and stop the annoying rattle! I have attached the article here.

by:

Perfect fit. 2021 Mazda CX-30. It took under an hour to install. Definitely watch video before attempting.
Tip #1- buy 3/8” spring clips (they were only .38 cents each) like the ones included in my photos. These retain the bolts in the frame since only 1 fish wire is included. Once you have the washers and nuts on you pop them out before tightening.
Tip #2- verify good threads on all bolts by threading the nuts on before installing. I had a section of threads on the one bolt that needed filing due to damage during shipment.

This is my second one order for second car great products
And service. Will continue ordering from here in future

by:

Perfect Fit, very easy to install and everything is hidden nice behind the bumper cover. Quick Shipping as well!

by:

Cody was very helpful helping me find the correct hitch for my bike carrier.

by:

One issue during install. With pull wire on mounting bolt didn’t fit through mounting plate. Found issue after pulled through frame. Had to drill out frame hole to get plate and bolt back out. Reamed out the other plates to fix issue.
Added about an hour to installation.
You get five stars because product is quality and fit well. Beside the plate issue install went well.

  • Exhaust on 2021 Mazda CX-30 Rattling Against Hitch
What you describe isn't unheard of. Due to the rigid nature of the hitch construction, once the # EH55VR is installed on your 2021 Mazda CX-30 it's position is fixed, and it would sit in exactly same spot on any Mazda CX-30 of the same model year. The same cannot be said of the vehicle's exhaust system. The exhaust system is suspended from rubber isolators that allow the exact position of the exhaust to vary a bit from vehicle to vehicle. The typical fix for the issue you describe is to...

  • Hitch Hits Exhaust with EcoHitch Trailer Hitch on 2021 Mazda CX-30 Turbo
I do show the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver part # EH55VR as a fit for a 2021 Mazda CX-30 Turbo. It is the only 2" option available for this vehicle. I was not able to find any reference to an exhaust issue but the exhaust and hitch making contact can be sort of common with some vehicles. The fix in most cases is easy, simply bend the metal exhaust hanger slightly in a direction opposite of the hitch and you should be good. This won't cause any issues since you're only bending...
