Greystone RV Microwave Does Not Heat Up

Question:

My microwave isn’t heating up. Everything else works on it. Just no heat. How do I unplug it and plug it back in? It is over the stove. Thank you.

Typically, with built-in microwaves like the Greystone Standard RV Microwave w/ Trim Kit # 324-000106, the 110v plug should be routed to an outlet inside a nearby cabinet.

If your microwave isn't heating up, you may have a burnt out diode or the microwave door switch. If the microwave door switch is damaged the microwave will look like it's working, but won't actually heat up anything.

If the diode has burnt out, this could indicate a short which would allow electrical flow in both directions.

Since there are no replacement parts available that will potentially solve your problem, you're going to end up of having to replace your entire microwave, unfortunately.

My RV is about 3 years old and when we got to our RV this evening, the microwave was not heating. I found your post from an internet search. You mentioned the door switch maybe the issue and thought I'd try to fix it. I had reset the power a couple of times with no effect. We leave our RV for weeks at a time in a seasonal campsite and I was thinking that maybe the door switch was stuck from lack of use. I turned off the breaker and activated the switch in the bottom latch hole. After clicking it a couple times, turned on the breaker and the microwave started to heat again. Definitely try his before blindly buying a new one. Thanks
