How to Add Clearance Between 6,000 lb Axle And Trailer Frame

Question:

Hello Sir, Trailer pipe line is passing below the frame. So there is very less gap between axle and pipe line 10-20mm. The spring is place underslung setup with tandem axle. Axles are 6000 lbs each. Is there any way to increase axle clearance ? Can we place 10 to 20mm space between axle and U bolt at top? or can we place the the spring as over slung setup?

You can indeed add clearance between the axle tube and trailer frame, and the best option to do so for your 6,000 lb axle is with an over-under conversion kit. This will turn your underslung set up into an overslung just like you mentioned; the correct part for your 6k axle is the following:

- Dexter Trailer Springs Over-Under Conversion Kit # K71-385-00

The # K71-385-00 will move your trailer's leaf springs to the top of your axle and lift your trailer approximately the same amount as your axle's diameter plus the height of the leaf spring pack.
