Achieving Minimum Ground Clearance With Roadmaster Comfort Ride Shocks on 2021 Grey Wolf 26DBHBL
Updated 01/24/2022 | Published 01/22/2022 >
Question:
I have the comfort ride 2450…. My axles are over the leaf springs…. Which way do you mount the shock plates? I f mount them like the pictures my extensions plate is about 1”1/2 off the ground…. So I need the extension plate or can I mount it with out it? Or can turn the plate over to get the ground clearance? Thank you for time

Helpful Expert Reply:
The Roadmaster Comfort Ride Shock Absorbers # RM-2450 will have the tie plates mounted in the same place regardless of the axle being on top or bottom of the leaf springs. The Extension plates will mount with the middle 2 mounting holes as seen in the attached image. You will need to ensure that the plates do not hang down any further than the trailer wheels to ensure that the brackets and shocks are not damaged in the event of a flat tire.
If you do not have the minimum clearance necessary you can mount the bottom of the shock directly to the tie plate without using the extension plate.
