Tucson Directlink Brake Controller is Fully Functional but the Display Screen is Not Working
Published 01/21/2022 >
Question:
I got a 2008 Airstream Interstate on a Freightliner chassis. It already has a Tucaon Direclink brake controller installed. When hooked up to a trailer, the controller activates the trailers brakes, but the screen on the controller wont come on. I cant tell what my brake gain is set at. Is this an issue with the unit or is there something Im doing wrong?

I just spoke with my rep at Tuson RV Brakes, the manufacterer of the Tuson DirecLink Base Model Trailer Brake Controller item # 335DL-100. He said that the older units had an LCD screen that wears out over time depending on the region you live in. He said humidity gets into the display and it slowly begins to fade until the entire screen goes dark. He told me there's most likely nothing wrong with your controller and you haven't done anything wrong but you will need to replace it with the newer upgraded LED display screen they have now. You will need to contact them directly at 800-968-8766 and speak to their warranty department at ext 220. If your Tuson DirecLink Base Model Trailer Brake Controller item # 335DL-100 is not covered under warranty the model we sell does come with the newer LED screen.
