Question:
Hi. I need a brake controller for my 2016 Lexus LX 570 without a factory tow package. It has a 7 pin connector. I would like the install to be as simple as possible, avoiding hardwiring if possible. If avoiding hardwiring is not possible with this unit and I could keep it more simple with another unit, I would appreciate your recommendation. Thanks!

Since your 2016 Lexus LX 570 has a 7-way, you can install a brake controller without hardwiring, with just the brake controller and wiring harness. The easiest to use is a wireless brake controller from Curt:
- Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller # C51180
For the Echo there is no dash removal, no adapter needed, and no hassle at all. Just plug it into the 7-way on your Lexus, download the app on your phone, and adjust the settings to your liking. That's all there is to it, and you get a brake controller that will give you smooth braking proportional to that of your Lexus. You don't even have to have the app on all the time, the controller will continue to work in the background so long as your phone is powered on.
So for the simplest possible install, there isn't a better option for your Lexus than the Echo # C51180, and is definitely the route I would go.
