Question:
I have a 7 pole round connector on my Class A RV and on my trailer. My 2017 Honda CRV is not yet wired for towing. I just purchased a new hitch from etrailer order #112567939. Should I be purchasing #47345 wiring kit plus an adapter??? or is there a different wiring kit I should purchase?

Thanks for the pictures. I have a solution for you that will set your 2017 Honda CR-V up identical to your RV but no you don't want to use the Adapter 7 Pole to 4 Pole with Tester and Cover item # 47345. You are going to need two separate harnesses to have a functional 7-way vehicle connector so you can control your trailer's brakes as well as its lighting functions. The first is the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector item # 118741. This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, located in your rear cargo area, without cutting or splicing
The second harness you will need is the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller - 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat - 10 Gauge Wires item # ETBC7. The kit includes a pre-wired 7- and 4-way trailer connector that mounts easily at the rear of your CR-V with an included bracket. This kit is designed for use on a vehicle with an existing 4-way flat trailer connector and plugs directly into it. This will give you an identical plug as your RV.
To control your trailer's brakes I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller item # 90195. This is a proportional brake controller that works with trailers having up to 4 axles. The brake controller activates your trailer brakes in proportion to your CR-V's braking action. It automatically adjusts the trailer's braking based on deceleration of your vehicle. The 3 boost levels setting lets you adjust initial braking power and aggressiveness. I have linked a picture of this brake controller installed.
