There is a version for the 1500 series 2009 Ram Pickup but not the part number I first reffered to, that is for the 2500 and 3500 series trucks with either short or long bed. For the 2009 1500 series truck with a 5-1/2' bed (also fits 6-1/2' and 8' bed models) you want the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch w/ Custom Installation Kit, # BWGNRK1309. This hitch is custom designed for your vehicle and has all needed mounting brackets to bolt to existing holes in your truck's frame, no additional drilling in frame is needed. There is of course some modification required to the truck bed, you will need to cut a 4" diameter hole for the hitch ball to go through and drill holes for the built-in safety chain loops. But there is no welding or drilling into your frame required. Please note the linked installation video below that walks you through the whole process on 2011 model Ram. Because you have the super short bed, if you need an offset, there is the 4" Offset Ball for B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck Trailer Hitch for Dodge Ram 1500, # BWGNXA4685. This is a 2-5/16" diameter ball that provides an additional 4" of clearance between the trucks cab and the gooseneck.
