Question:

I already ordered the Part # 1528-3 base plate for my Honda CRV 2001 4WD. And I already have the Toe Bar Roadmaster Falcon 5250 when I bought my RV from previous Owner. I need your help if there is still something I have to buy for attachment of the ordered baseplate and to my existing Roadmaster Falcon 5250 Toe Bar. Also, please advice if there is an upgrade part I need to my existing Roadmaster Falcon 5250 Toe Bar. Thank you very much in advance for all the help.

My technical contact at RoadMaster informed me that, indeed, the RoadMaster BasePlate # 1528-3 and the Falcon 5250 do work together. He said that you need to make sure that you have the crossbar and L brackets that go with the towbar. The RoadMaster Quick Disconnect Assembly # 910021-00 is what you will need to make your set-up work properly.

My contact told me that a lot of times, when people sell vehicles, they simply forget about these pieces, so it is a common occurrence.

The other items you need to safely tow your 2001 Honda CR-V are safety cables, lighting, and a supplemental braking system.

For a safety cable, I recommend the RoadMaster # RM-643, mainly because they are vinyl coated and coiled, so it can give you the length if you need it and not drag on the ground if you do not.

A simple lighting system is the RoadMaster # RM-155. This is a self-contained system and bypasses your vehicles electrical system.

Finally, for a supplemental braking system, I recommend the RoadMaster Even Brake # RM-9400 which is a proportional braking system meaning that the same amount of brake pressure is being applied to your towed vehicle as is being applied to your motorhome.
