What is the Red S Hook Used for on the Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains

The instructions dont mention the little red s hooks. We even got an extra package of them. What are they used for?

The red "S" hooks on the Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains # PW2029C are there to secure any excess cable that you may have once the chains are installed and tightened down. You can see us going over this at about the 2:55 minute mark in the linked video.
These hooks can also be used to keep the cables together when you have the chains stored as well.
